Swollen

veins
on papery arms,
so green.

Listless

laundry
clings bravely
to untaut lines.

Tear

drops
through the cracks

in my heart.

Stray

thoughts
poured into the sea
overflow.

Clouds

Fluffy floating
bathtubs
for soiled angels.

Written for a word picture exercise on SC&Co.

Yes

I could write today
of things left unsaid
if only it wouldn’t
hurt so much;
I could write today
of things left undone
if only it wouldn’t
tear me to shreds;

I could write today
of the untouched,
unclaimed, untorn good,

I would probably
write today
if only I could.
