Axed Tree

Would have stayed strong,
unbowed, defiant for years
if you hadn't come to pass;
instead, I am coiled
against a broken tile
waiting to wipe your
filthy arse.

Written for Shakespeare & Co. on the theme 'What if'.

Should have come here before. I very much like your brevity. Haiku-like.

J.A.P - Honoured!

dopppsy - looks like you answered your own question :) Thank you.

i_f - Did you see the beautiful one they recently felled near HSBC? If only trees could carry axes and chop people as they walk by! Asinine comment I know, but this is one thing that gets me *really* mad :(

Shyam, ammani - hope to get better so I could torture you guys a bit less :-)

I loved this piece but when I read the others I felt you're a poet in a lazy sort of manner. Kind of give up just before you chisel a masterpiece thinking - 'who'd bother this is not what I wish to do anyways?' I may be wrong. Correct me if that be the case. My apologies if I have transgressed. :-)
